I left my plastic black lantern ring next to the laptop fan and now it's bending funny because it got too hot. OTL And the new cat keeps stealing small stuff from my room. I found my tiny Q doll in the kitchen this morning.

It was so cold today! High of 68 degrees. I got to wear a turtleneck~! After school I sat outside on porch and drank hot tea while reading a book. I wish it was cold like this all the time. It's gonna go back to about 80 in a few days, though. Sigh.

Tomorrow I get to go to an art festival on a fieldtrip! All the juniors and seniors in the art classes are allowed to go. We get to miss school and go hang out and look at art. It's gonna be fun.

The first nine weeks of junior is over. Wooo! I've been working myself to death for the past few weeks, and it totally payed off, because GUESS WHAT I HAVE.

NOTHING BELOW A B IN ANY CLASS THAT'S WHAT I HAVE.

YEAH. Take that, physics!
I was very very worried, but I have all As and Bs, and my GPA is a 3.7. Finally!

This joy is slightly marred by the fact that I have ANOTHER bad cold, which is like the third one in two months. I have to go to a birthday party today, too....but I'm feeling better than yesterday, at least, so I should be better tomorrow.

SO HOW ARE YOU FLIST. *radiates happiness*

Thank God it's almost November, I don't think I could wait much longer for a new Doctor Who episode. At least we get one a month after this, until the January special. I'm super-excited, I really am. :D I'm trying really hard not to read any spoilers (though I have read a couple accidentally), I want these episodes to be a surprise.

So I finally got the first two issues of I Can't Believe It's Not The Justice League. I had downloaded it, but then my computer crashed and I never got around to finding it again. So I went and bought it, and I love it! <3 It's super hilarious. I have a renewed love for all of them now, especially Ralph. And Ted. And Guy. All of them. Totally gonna buy the third issue next time I go.

The 9 weeks will be done about two weeks from now, thank goodness. I think I'm gonna end up with two C's again, though, unless my midterm magically brings my APUSH grade up to a B. Which it might, since it's a 77 right now. Physics is surprisingly a 76, I do believe. Everything else is at least a B. Good times.

Today was Powder Puff day at school for homecoming week, so a bunch of the guys were dressed as girls. It was kind of disconcerting to find that the kid who sits next to me in art class makes a pretty girl. OTL

My hands are still covered in scratches. Stupid cat.

If a magic genie told you your calories wouldn't count for 24 hours, would it change what and how much you ate that day?

View 1264 Answers

Nooot really. I usually eat whatever I want. I'm pretty thin so I don't really worry about my weight. OTL I probably should, though. Totally not healthy.

So I have a B in my AP US History class! \o/ Very nice. Rose ten points in one day because he graded my summer assignment, finally.

The only class I'm worried about now is Physics. Oh, physics, you are the bane of my existence.

*watches V for Vendetta on MTV* Okay, tomorrow I'm so watching Fellowship of the Ring.
Yes those two are connected, it has Hugo Weaving.

You know what movie is awesome? Road to El Dorado. I recently rewatched it and man, it was hilarious.

Yeah this is a pretty pointless post.  *sits next to flist*

The second week is over! \o/

...OTL And they have been the busiest two weeks EVER. And sooo slow! I dunno how I'm gonna keep up with KC AND do my homework and study for my AP classes and read all the crap I have to read and.
I'm probably gonna end up taking another long hiatus from KC again. Again. I just got back from one!
Hopefully it'll calm down after a few weeks....

Most of my teachers have continued to rock, and I think I'm doing alright even in my Physics and Math classes. Which is niiice.
My art class is super fun! It's nice to get A's for being able to draw decently. C:  I'm so excited for when we start drawing people. We've been drawing toys this past week. The teacher collects a LOT of toys (seriously, 16 bins and those are just the ones she's not afraid of bringing in), so we get to draw about 18 on one page in three layers to practice different perspectives and positions. It's fun!
My APUShistory is alright. I love the class and my teacher, but he keeps giving quizzes and I'm terrible at quizzes. AP Art History is fine too. I need to go do my studyguide and notecards, though...AP Lang. and Comp. is cool. We've been doing a lot of writing. The teacher uses far too many huge words for my taste (and it's not like I shy away from huge words), but she's sweet enough and she's funny, too.

The anime club is run by a different teacher, this year, one who seems to be able to actually control the kids who won't sit down and shut up. That's good, since while our club is filled with a bunch of (relatively) calm and normal people who are also anime fans, there are about 5 or 6 crazy ones who make the rest of us look obnoxious by association. OTL But hopefully, since our teacher seems pretty competent, we'll be alright and actually DO stuff this year.
I'm gonna join book club (already suggested Good Omens as our book this year) and possible Asian club, since it's run by my APUSH teacher who cooks a bunch of Asian food for the kids and brings it in for meetings. Free food!

A friend kicked me in the foot today and ripped off part of my toenail. orz He didn't mean to, he was just messing around, but he was wearing big tennish shoes and I had on sandals. So as he apologized and I hopped to the car my foot was bleeding and it was. Urgh.

Thank God for three day weekends. Which is already busy.

I didn't sleep much last night for some reason. I went to bet around 11:30 (had to finish a summer assignment) and fell asleep at 1am, then woke up at like, 4am and fell back asleep at 5:30. I had to get up at 6am. So my first day of school will be run on about 3.5 hours of sleep. Wonderful!

Wish me luck. Today is going to be weird.

From Dr. Polidori's Lord Ruthven to Stephenie Meyer's Edward Cullen, the annals of vampire lore are filled with attractive, charming bloodsuckers. Which one would you most want to be bitten by?

View 512 Answers

Well, I particularly like the vampires in Anne Rice novels, but I don't think I'd want to be bitten by any of them.
Oh, how about the ones in Moonlight? That was a good show, too bad it got canceled. I loved Josef.

Alrighty, so, I assume everyone and their mothers have seen the new Doctor Who trailers from SDCC, but just in case someone missed it:

Argh. I keep thinking 'Oh, I should go play at KC today, I haven't played there for a while' and then I just...don't. I feel like playing for a few minutes and then I'm like 'Meh. I'll play tomorrow. Or the next day. Sometime...'  It's not like I can't get in character anymore I just don't feel like it.
I'll probably just post a hiatus notice because I just can't get into it. Maybe going on our trip will motivate me.

On a less boring note, I'm really liking Eleven right now. I think Matt's gonna be a good Doctor. I like his outfit! I like it more without the jacket. Suspenders and bowties! I'm very excited for next year's series. Now I just have to train myself to think 'Doctor' instead of 'Matt' when I see him...
Hurry up November, I wanna see the next special!

I've recently gotten into Merlin. I really like it! It's so silly sometimes, but it's a nice show. I'm on episode...11, I think? I love Merlin and Arthur and Gaius. I kind of want to slap Uther (except for when he's actually being a nice guy, once in a while).

So flist, how are you guys today?

I got to go see the HBP movie on Saturday like I said! I went with a bunch of my guy friends, since my one girl friend is out of town right now. They were almost late to the movie, too. Very reliable, my friends. It was nice to see them all, though, since I haven't seen any of them since school let out like, a month and a half ago.

Anyway, about the movie. Excuse my ramblings, until the friend that I mentioned gets back from her trip, I have basically no one to talk to about this.

This'll probably be long so it's cut for your convenience! )

What news source do you use most often?

View 500 Answers

I don't watch the news much, but my dad watches CNN a lot.
Oh, wait, if the Daily Show and the Colbert Report count, I watch those very day they're new. :D I get my news from there and from the internet.

I'm sorry I haven't been on a lot for the past few days. I've been reading. I'm trying to read all the Harry Potter books (or at least up to HBP) before I go see the movie on the 18th. On Saturday I read SS/PS, on Sunday I read CoS and yesterday I read PoA. :D After I make this quick post I'm off to read Goblet of Fire.  I actually lost my copy of that, so I had to go out Saturday and buy a used one at the used bookstore. It's in super nice condition, too! But you can tell that it was read a few times, at least, which makes me happy. And now they're all sitting nice and neat on my bookshelf, finally!
Also, while we were at the used bookstore, I bought the Batman: Gotham Knight DVD for five bucks. Five! Everywhere else I've looked it's always around 15, which I can't afford. But now I finally have it! :D I watched it a while ago, but I'm glad I can watch it again. Kevin Conroy! <3
It's been such a long time since I read these, at least two years for most of them! I read the 7th one last year, but I've been wanting to read them all in order for a long time now. It's super fun! But I've started tearing up at the weirdest stuff, too. I'm gonna be a wreck when I get to the last two, I know it.
I've also been watching the movies as I finish the books, but I..don't want to watch the third one. Mainly because I really disliked it in comparison to the book. :\ It just wasn't right. That and I have 4 more books to read in 11 days, so I need to get crackin'! That means I'm probably not going to be on too much until I finish.
Later!

It's blockbuster season in movie theaters. What was the last movie you saw?

View 500 Answers

The last movie I saw in theaters, or the last I watched period? The last one I saw in theaters was....oh, geez, I forgot. It was a while ago....let's see, I think it was Star Trek. Oh my god, it WAS. That was forever ago! OTL Movies are too expensive for me to go see them in theaters, I have to wait until they go to the cheap theater or until it's on demand or on dvd. I've missed a million movies in the past few months because I'm flat broke.
The last movie I saw period was the Sound of Music, which I watched at a friend's house the other day. I love that movie. <3 Captain von Trapp = amazing. Edelweiss has been stuck in my head all week.

I love this HP arc going on in KC. <3 When I'm done with the book I'm reading right now (last of the Night Angel trilogy, I'm almost done, thank GOD), I'm going to zoom through the HP series and finish at least up to Half-Blood Prince so I can be prepared for the movie. I've been planning to reread the series for like, a year, so I'm excited. Except I LOST MY COPY OF GOBLET OF FIRE orz I have no idea where it is. I'll have to get mom to take me to the used bookstore. Oi.
Speaking of Harry Potter, I am very excited for the movie! I've been waiting for this for a looong time. And I'm thinking this one is gonna be really good! I've had problems with the last few movies except, oddly, the Order one, which I loved despite every single one of my friends hating it because they cut so much. The other movies have started growing on me, too. But this one is one that I really think they're gonna do well on! Ever since the trailer was released online (which you NEED to see if you haven't because it's just so damn cool) I've been freaking out about it. :D It's gonna be cool.
I won't be able to see it opening night, though. OTL It's like a tradition for my mom and all of my friends to go out and see it together at the midnight opening, but this year it's a Wednesday night (and it would have been Friday but they changed the date! D<) so my Dad's gonna be at work and he'll be the one who has the car, leaving my mom and I with no ride. And my mom has work the next morning. :\ So I guess I'll wait till Friday night or Saturday. Siiigh.
Ffff I don't care I just wanna see it!

Okay so this weekend I finally finished two shows: Gurren Lagann and Toward the Terra. Both of them were awesome an both of them made me cry. D: Spoilers for both series because the LJ cut isn't working for some odd reason.

Okay, so Terra first. Basically, the entire last episode can be summarized as "Rocks fell and everyone died." Literally. Everyone except for Physis and Tony! So in effect, ALL of my favorite characters died. Even Leo! What the heck, Leo, couldn't you have made a shield or somethng to protect that lady? Though it was sweet that she didn't care if he was a Mu or not. Aww.
Also, I TOTALLY CALLED that everyone would die except for Tony and that Tony would be the new Soldier, because it was kind of obvious. I did think Physis would die but the Elders were too awesome to let her.
ANYWAY. Okay, so Matsuka. Tony, I'm mad at you for killing him, but it was kind of inevitable because he was the one Mu on Keith's side. :\ I was not liking Keith until Matsuka pulled him out of that....dream lake thing. I felt terrible for him then, because first Shiroe, then Sam (SAM *screams*), and then Matsuka? But it was Matsuka's death that pushed him to defy the Grand Mother and save the Mu and the humans, so. Yeah.
ALL of that scene in the end when Jomy and Keith and Tony were sitting there with the rocks and the stabbed-ness and the dying...that was sad. D: And then Tony got the headphones! And the part with the Pandora's Box metaphor, and Keith dying alone.
Last thing: Did they have to kill off the Elders!? I mean, I realized when Zel said they would need to use all of their power to get the canary kids out, but...Harley. >:
So that means that all of the Older generation of Mu are dead, and all but four of the Type Blue Mu are dead too. Geez. AND Keith, Matsuka, Shiroe, and Sam are dead too.
The shot of the reformed Terra at the end kind of made things better. A little.

So I watched TTGL about a million years after everyone else, so I'm completely late on this, but I have to say that I really liked it a LOT. It was just fun!  :D
I watched the finale of the Gurren Lagan dub on Sci Fi this morning, and can I just say that everything inthe first five minutes was made of pure awesome? Everyone got their own Lagann-y gunmen. And combined them to make one the size of a galaxy. A galaxy. BIGGER than a galaxy! And the Anti-Spiral's ship used galaxies for shuriken!
Before I say anything else, the last episode with Kamina waking everyone up from their dreams made me cry. Especially Yoko. And Viral's dream! His wife and kid!
And Kittan's death, too, though I was also laughing because he was laughing about how awesome it was. Yoko has a kiss of death.
Anyway, the part where Dayaka was yelling that the Anti-Spiral leader wouldn't lay a hand on earth because his amazing wife was down there while swinging the leader's ship arouuuund and arouuuund was great. I love Dayaka. <3
Other highlights included Boota, the container of more Spiral Energy than even Simon, and LordGenome's head. He was cool. AND THEN HE TURNED INTO A DRILL.
I can't really say how cool it was because it's just repeating a bunch of stuff that's already been said. I will say that everything from the wedding to the very end was kind of depressing but still awesome. I did like seeing everyone (except for Leeron, of course) all old because that doesn't happen a lot in anime. Everyone usually just stays the same.

Okay, that's it. I liked both of the series very very much. <3 Let's see, now I'm working on Gundam Wing, Soul Eater, Antique Bakery, and I'm gonna get started on Captain Harlock. And at some point I'm going to resume reading One Piece after a break of a...really really long time. I think I was in the Alabaster (Alabasta?) arc, and I have no idea how long ago that was. A long time because Robin hadn't even joined the crew yet. So. I'm wondering if I should start over to refresh my memory, but that might just take even longer. Hmm.

I didn't go to community service all last week because I was sick, but this week I have to go three days in a row. Joy. OTL It's not so bad, though. I like a lot of the residents. It's not as depressing as I thought it would be. They do a lot of fun stuff there. Like tea parties and bowling! Bowling with big rubber bowling balls and REALLY light pins. :D

In your opinion, what is the cutest animal baby?

View 500 Answers

Ohh, that's so hard! I love baby animals. Um....I guess baby penguins? They're just so adorable! <3

I finished Princess Tutu last night! It's been ages since I last watched it, I'm talking a couple of years, and since I was watching it on demand, I forgot about it for a while and kind of skipped half the second season by accident. So it's nice to see it all in one go! And now I understand a few things I had been confused about. I like Autor a lot more now, if only because he was so awesome that he beat up Mr. Crazy-Axe-Man with a book and tackled him through a door. Yeah! \o/

I was reading around online for what people thought of the ending, and I'm surprised at how many people didn't like it! A lot of them were talking about how it wasn't fair that Tutu and Mytho didn't end up together after all she did for him. But Rue had loved him since she was little, and knew him a lot more than Duck did! Duck really didn't know him very well at all. She spent a lot more time with Fakir than she did with Mytho. Besides, I think...well, I know Duck loves the Prince. But I don't think she loves him the way Rue loves him. Duck's love for Mytho is more....shallow? It's not SHALLOW, but...I can't really think of the word. She loves him but it's not like the 'I want to be yours and love only you forever, and I want you to be mine' kind of love that was so prevalent with Rue and Mytho.

A few other people were mad that she turned back into a duck at the end, but wasn't that what her conversation underwater with Fakir was about? They were talking about how it was okay for them to go back to their real selves. Duck's real self is a duck. She's said it throughout the series! I would've been happy if she had been able to stay as a girl, but that's not the point. The point is that something as small and seemingly useless as a duck accomplished so much, and won! She was able to break through her normal role as a tiny and fragile animal and be a freakin' princess. That's awesome.
Also, I think it said at the end that Fakir was writing a story for her, right? I'm betting he could write her into a girl again so they can be together. :D

Ah, sorry for going on about it for so long. I just love that series! When I was watching it I was crying through the whole last episode. It was so awesome!

I still feel sick today, but it's getting better-ish. Now that I've watched Princess Tutu I have nothing to do, though. :\ I guess I'll go watch Gundam Wing or Soul Eater or something.

Ugh. I think I'm getting sick. Man, I hate getting sick during the summer. I don't even have any school to stay home from! Its just a waste of a good day now. Sigh. I guess I'll just take some medicine and sit around all day. Maybe I'll get dad to go out and buy me some food....

But today will still be awesome because I CAN WATCH MY NEW PRINCESS TUTU DVDS. <333 I bought the entire series! Heehee. I haven't been able to find any DVDs for Tutu, but now I've finally succeeded in my goal! I watched the first two discs last night and I'll watch the other four today. :D

I just realized that I really have nothing big to look forward to this summer except for movies. Transformers, Harry Potter...when is GI Joe coming out? I wanna see that if only for Christopher Eccleston. That and the trailers look cool.
Hmm...there was one other movie I was looking forward to, but now I can't remember what it was. Oh well.

What fictional character do you most identify with?

View 507 Answers

Ooh, let's see....probably Belle, from Beauty and the Beast. It's the 'bookworm who is bored by normal life and would rather be in a fairy tale' part of her that's most like me.  I love my life very much, but I often wish I could be part of a more exciting story than the one I'm in right now.

Now I want to go watch Beauty and the Beast.

A few years ago I would have said Sakura from CCS, but it's more that I aspire to be more like her than that my true personality is like hers. She's just so...nice. And sweet, and she worries more about others than herself, and she never ever gives up. I want to be like that.

Speaking of Sakura, did I mention that I LOVED the second to last chapter of TRC? That was soooo cute! <3 The most recent one is a bit of a wallbanger, with their kid being the real Syaoran. OTL I mean, that ties it up well enough, but..sheeesh. Does that mean the the parents of Syaoran who showd up a few chapters ago are really the clones all grown up AND that their...whatever Sakura and Syaoran were to Watanuki? His parents, sort of? Ugh. This is still confusing.
But that means that they aren't the Sakura and Syaoran from CCS, so that's a bit of a relief because I was kind of sad that they ended up in such a confusing and depressing story.

Man, I'm watching so many shows right now! I still have two more episodes of Terra to go (it'll happen soon, promise) and I'm also watching Antique Bakery, Gundam Wing, and Soul Eater. I'm only an episode into Soul Eater, but I like it very much. I watched Gundam Wing a long LONG time ago, so now I'm rewatching it. I forgot how much I liked it! Even though I didn't really understand much of it back then.

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERYN. It's

[info]bangflip's birthday, go sing happy birthday to her. :D

Today I took my Math and Humanities exams. I have B's in both classes! I was so sure I'd end up with a C in math, but magically it rose, so I think I have a B in there. We get report cards in the mail so I'll find out sometime later this month. No exams tomorrow, and then Spanish and Chemistry on Friday. >O I can so do this!

And then summerrrrr. Yes. Good times.

I got the Producers soundtrack on my iPod! I've been singing it all week. Man, I love those songs. Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick are really good at singing. <3

Hmmmm. My cousin graduated yesterday. Only two more years until I'm sitting there in a gigantic stadium graduating, too. Geez, high school is going by so fast. >: Seems like only a few weeks ago that I was in 8th grade hanging out with all of my friends. So much has changed since then. Different friends, different hairstyle, different interests...well, my interests aren't SO different, but they've definitely changed. I wonder how much I'll change in the next two years....

I finished American Gods! Man, that was cool. I liked the twist thing they had going on at the end. Fun! :D So now I'm reading the last of the Night Angel trilogy, which is going to be sooo awesome! C: Very exciting.

I really want to watch Beauty and the Beast. Hmmm. Too bad I don't have it on DVD. Maybe I'll go watch another Disney movie instead.

Geez, I just love this icon! <3 So cute.

So this is the last weekend I will ever have as a sophomore. After this week, I'll be a junior! Tomorrow is the rest of our nine weeks exams (I have Math, English, and Chem) and Tuesday we find out if we have to come to school for the rest of the week. Our school has a weird system of absences and grades, and what you have of each determines whether you take your semester/final exams. If you have 3 absences and an A in the class, you can skip that class's exam. 2 absences and a B, 1 absence and a C, but anything lower than a C or higher than 3 absences and you gotta take the exam unless your teacher loves you and exempts you from it (like my English teacher did last time, I had an A in the class and....5 absences? She said that it didn't matter if I took it, since I'd get an A and nothing would happen to my grade. Woo!).

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are half days, two exams each. I WOULD have to take them all, but because of the swine flu scare and stuff, all absences taken after the 4th of May don't count towards exams. Sooo that means that all the absences I had recently because of me being sick don't count! Which means I might be able to skip a few of them. I'd get to skip AP anyway, because you get exempt if you took the big AP exam. :D I'll end up taking Math and Chem, though, probably Spanish and Humanities, too. I guess we'll see!

I'm reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman right now! Man, his stories are messed up. I really like it, though! All the mythology references make me smile. :D Once I finish that, I have to read the last book in a trilogy (Night Angel series, anyone heard of it? It's good!), and then I'm gonna re-read the Harry Potter books before the movie comes out. And THEN I'm FINALLY gonna read the latest Artemis Fowl book, which has been on my shelf for about 3 months. I haven't been able to read it because I've been reading other things.

I'm gonna go watch Spiderman now. Later!
